Odoo

by Odoo S.A.

$

Odoo is a suite of open-source business apps. Accounting, inventory, CRM, e-commerce, manufacturing. That can start tiny and grow module by module. The hosted edition is among the cheapest paths to a real ERP, with the trade-off of lighter accounting depth (especially US GAAP/fund accounting) and reliance on partners or in-house devs for customization.

Integrations

Extensive ecosystem

Odoo Apps Store. By far the largest of any ERP in this directory: 10,000+ apps per Odoo's own count in 2025, with third-party trackers citing 16,000+.

Notable integrations

Shopify (native connector, bidirectional)Stripe, PayPal, Adyen, Authorize.Net (bundled, no surcharge)AvaTax / Avalara (native tax engine)Zapier, Make, and Workato all have dedicated Odoo connectors

API quality: XML-RPC/JSON-RPC (mature, but slated for removal in Odoo 22 / fall 2028) plus a newer REST API. Note: external API access is gated to Custom/Enterprise pricing plans, not available on the free tier.

What doesn't connect cleanly

  • Anyone can publish a module. Third-party app quality varies widely and can break core functionality
  • Major version upgrades routinely break custom integrations; Odoo does not guarantee backward compatibility for custom modules across versions
  • Deeper integrations (e.g. Google Workspace) often still require paid third-party apps or custom dev despite the huge catalog
